The Trade Marketing Manager will manage the trade marketing deployment, forecasting, execution and delivery of all trade marketing materials for all North America Channels of Trade (Dept Stores, E-commerce, Key Accounts and Independents). Lead the development and execution of in-store events/programs designed to drive business by account, including sales contests, holiday promotions, seasonal events, etc.



  • Lead and define trade marketing strategy within the NA Optical Channel and create initiatives to ensure proper alignment to the Brand business and marketing strategy to meet brand, customer and consumer expectations.
  • Manage the strategic development and execution of well-conceived rollout plans (end-to-end) and budgets, aligning cross-functional teams towards a flawless execution of the strategy, maximizing profitability and ROI.
  • Create a tiered approach to budget and execution of all NA plans.
  • Lead development of various merchandising materials for the field sales force (ie., sales brochures, etc.)
  • Ensures availability of appropriate trade materials, displays and other POP materials for the field sales team.
  • Track competitive activity, category issues, retail environment and provide feedback.
  • Develop tools to promote sell-out (POP, contests, events).
  • Provide the brand with supporting analysis as needed for working sessions on marketing/sales/business strategy.
  • Define regular communication flows and shared KPIs with all relevant teams (brand, corporate trade marketing, commercial leadership, etc.
  • Fiscally responsible for the creation and tracking of trade marketing budget (in line with commercial sales plan).
  • Generate new approaches, unique ideas and creative strategies and executions driving new levels of consumer engagement.  
  • Allocate displays, POP, GWP and other promotional tools by tiering out all executions.
  • Integrate “Regulator” for tracking, ROI and allotment purposes.
  • Track and monitor Displays and POP.
  • Responsible for 2 direct reports—a specialist for the US business and a consultant for Canada Optical.



  • BS/BA in a business or marketing discipline.
  • 5-7+ years of exp. in trade-marketing, marketing leadership, regional trade or global trade marketing.
  • Proven track record of leading multiple projects simultaneously, under tight time constraints and within budget parameters.
  • Detail oriented with budget management and reporting skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed for regional meetings, trainings, field visits, etc. (30-50% of time)
  • Ability to forecast a number of tools and work with sales reps to determine the trade needs for the US market.
  • Solid understanding of Marketing dynamics and how these apply in a commercial driven environment, to achieve Brand results with Sales results as opposed to one versus the other.
  • Experience developing well-conceived and successful rollout plans for commercial initiatives.
  • Influencing skills and experienced team player.
  • Well developed, verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications – especially PowerPoint and Excel.
