GENERAL FUNCTION

The Marketing Specialist works in conjunction with the Trade Marketing Manager to develop and execute in-store events/programs designed to drive business by account, including sales contests, holiday promotions, seasonal events, etc.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures availability of appropriate trade materials, displays and other POP materials for the field sales team.
  • Supports Trade Marketing Manager in the development of various marketing materials for the field sales force (i.e. training manuals, sales brochures, etc.).
  • Tracks competitive activity, category issues, retail environment and provides feedback to internal resources linking trade marketing and operational services for FIXTURE and POP.
  • Display forecasts: distributes and collects forecasts from Sales team.
  • Display orders: prepares sales representative order input sheets for data entry.
  • Display delivery: tracks incoming POP and communicates outgoing delivery to channel managers and sales force.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • University diploma in Marketing
  • 1+ year(s) of Marketing related experience
  • Proficient in all Windows applications
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Understanding in field/trade marketing activities
  • Basic knowledge of marketing principles and practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • High level of computer literacy: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to prioritize and handle additional responsibilities as required and assigned
  • Basic understanding of budgeting cost estimating and fiscal management principles and procedures
  • Ability to solve problems quickly, think creatively and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Motivated self-starter, process-oriented with a high attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and flexibility to accommodate demanding project schedules
  • Ability to maintain professional relationship and line of communication with all business contacts, sales force and customers
  • Ability to travel domestically (minimum of one retail visit every quarter)
  • Fluent English written & spoken communication
