GENERAL FUNCTION

The Director HR acts a strategic partner to a high growth and fast paced business within a highly complex matrixed vertically integrated (design to distribution) organization. Defines, drives and embeds HR strategy within the business to add value and provide professional HR guidance to and extensive goal-oriented organization (Includes, Marketing, Planning, Strategy, Finance and all Back-Office functions). The Director HR is an integral member of a cross functional HR team, collaborating closely with talent acquisition, talent development and communications, in order to foster a seamless end-to-end employee experience

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partners with the leadership at the executive team level to help build business strategy by helping leaders to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes.
  • Operates as a HRBP Partner and coach/consultant to Leaders to achieve business strategy.
  • Own the workforce planning, succession planning and organizational design for included populations.
  • Builds alignment and consensus to move HR strategy/projects forward. Translates recommendations into action plans.
  • Develops and promotes feedback mechanisms for employees and managers to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and processes.
  • Actively identify and seek to resolve drivers of employee turnover and implements best practices to retain top talent. Advocate for initiatives that will positively impact the employee population. 
  • Manage the delivery and improvement of key HR initiatives: Onboarding, Performance Management, Compensation Planning, Talent Management and Succession Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting.
  • Supports line managers to identify the organizational requirements needed to sustain a high performing organization and to develop a strong talent pipeline – internally and externally.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and Talent Development to provide organizational insight on talent needs/gaps to build strategies. Focuses on initiatives that will retain and engage top performers/high potential talent.
  • Provide expert counsel, advice and coaching to managers and employees when appropriate.Support, coach and advise leadership with all employee relations and performance management matters. Manage conflict resolution, complaints and conducts critical investigations in order to move toward resolution.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Human Resources Management
  • Must be able to think strategically, connect the dots, and navigate the organization.
  • Capacity to build strong partnerships with senior leadership. Has a clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between HR and business strategy. Strong business acumen.
  • Agile learner and flexible in order to adapt to a highly entrepreneurial dynamic environment.
  • Action oriented and proactive in driving initiatives/projects forward.
  • Aptitude to engage, inspire, and influence people
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Significant knowledge of HR policies and processes (e.g., workforce planning and talent management)
  • Travel 25 – 30%.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Prior work experience in a wholesale environment. 
  • Prior experience driving sweeping organization change across a large matrixed orgranization
